I Love Those Gypsy Women!

I’ve been watching the History of Country Music by Ken Burns. The pioneers of hillbilly music validate my notion to start a business in something you love to do. These music pioneers didn’t have a pot to pee in. With perseverance, they became not only famous but also secured a place in music history.
I wrote my book to encourage people to go out on their own. The young people I know seem to settle for the comforts of corporate America. Corporate America can be reassuring, but a corporate job doesn’t necessarily mean a secure future. An economic downturn results in many corporate employees finding themselves on the outside looking in. I only know of a few people who braved entrepreneurial endeavors. Nataliya Borener is my cousin who purchases Moroccan rugs and resells them in Texas. Check out her website at Drift Home Collection. I find it pretty darn inspiring that ten percent of her business’ online purchases go to charities where the product originated. The only other younger person I know who braved the unknown is my physical therapist Ellie who decided Tucson is nice but Hawaii is even better. She got a job on the Big Island and now works in paradise. We met socially on the island during our most recent vacation and Ellie is a wonderful old soul whose kindness reminds me of my two daughters, Laura and Kara. The world is in dire need and the more kindness the better. True, I don’t know many young go-getters but the ones I do know seem content. My thoughts, get out into the world and pursue a new adventure.
My old man babble would be totally irrelevant without my new endeavor. I am learning to play the violin by a young violinist also ironically named Elly. This young lady is a schoolmarm and in a kick-butt band called The Copper Queens. I’ll keep you posted on their new single dropping soon on Spotify. She rocks. Believe it or not, I have fungus nails older than my young violin maestro. It’s not that she is a teenager but rather my fungus toes are quite ancient, developing while I was in my upper thirties. Odd, but until very recently I never knew an Ellie. I’m beginning to think that Ellies may be plotting to take over the world. It could be a positive as right now any competent leadership would be greatly appreciated.
For anyone following my blabbing blog from the senile, I will periodically post videos of my violin progress. Whelp, enough of my fiddling around. It is time to practice! My hopes are to run away and join a Gypsy band named Elly to travel the world to play haunting melodies. “Power to the people up the revolution.” Remember people be kind always.
