WTF?!

I have been on this planet for 71 years and admit we have some real crazy shit going on. It appears our inequalities may finally catch up to us. Apparently more total assholes inhabit the United States than I would have ever guessed. People should not be protesting about home quarantines, but instead about how poorly we treat our citizens who aren’t able to secure a good-paying job, usually because of race or education. How can you substantiate paying stock dividends to the wealthy on the backs of underpaid workers? Did I miss something in the Bible that mentions the rich get richer while the poor get poorer? Even for the human race, we are witnessing some new lows.

We do have a chance to remedy this. Don’t be so selfish to think the rich deserve what they get and those less fortunate will find their just rewards in life after death. Whoever wrote this was not part of the poor masses. Our current president believes his earnings were justified and had nothing to do with the millions his father gave him to start his empire. Give me a break! Give anyone a headstart like that in life and chances for success multiply ten-fold. The system we now have is totally tilted in favor of old white guys and their cronies.

Lots of examples of this American hypocrisy abounds. McDonald’s workers make $7.50 per hour. If we paid them $15.00 per hour the price of a Big Mac would have to increase by .21 cents. If the workers were paid $22.00 per hour the Big Mac would increase by a dollar. So why not pay employees a living wage? Kroger’s starting pay is $8.50 per hour. During the stay at home orders, Kroger supplemented their employees' pay by an additional $2.00 per hour. After the month of May, Kroger will no longer pay the extra $2.00 per hour pandemic risk pay. Initially, I was thinking Andrew Yang’s idea of $1000 per month for people was an unintelligent solution. However, after mulling this over, this could be the answer. Obviously excluding people who are doing financially well and including all who need the aid is a good starting point. America is the land where the dollar is king and nothing else matters. Sharing the pie now will produce great dividends later.

I’m reading crap on Facebook that states Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates will make millions on vaccines. I believe right-wing media spread this bull and their followers swallow the conspiracy hook, line, and sinker. The Nazis loading Jews onto train cars is no comparison to being quarantined in our homes. Yet, I actually saw this being used to describe how horrible we are being treated. People, wake up! Science is your friend, not your enemy. Be smart and use logic in making decisions. Maybe for once, instead of just applying bandaids to our many problems, we can search for a more permanent solution. After all, we are the government of the people, by the people and for the people. The government is an image of us. I realize that my writings will change very few minds if any. It does personally make me feel better.
