I can’t help myself. Great pic of old friend and one-time business partner.

Dear inhabitants of the planet,

I’m sending this letter to friends and friends of friends of friends. It doesn’t matter if you respond. If you have loved ones, the changing climate should be of great concern. Soon we will be a lot like other species that have inhabited our planet, extinct, no more, done. Audi, a term Laura, my eldest daughter, used to say when she was a toddler and her milk was done. Audi (all gone)!

Led by mostly people of my generation, yep the peace, love, dove generation, we are rapidly destroying our home. Even, so called, inferior animals know better than to crap throughout the house. Pick a corner but do not crap everywhere. Baby boomers are leading the way to extinction followed by every other generation. I am one of the guilty. Money is our new God. It is always about wealth and power. Whether it’s health care, education or even saving souls (for my Christian friends), money is front and center. Possibly being a crackhead is simpler. Not caring is easy. Not feeling is easy. Zombie Apocalypse.!

I remember in the 1960s, during the Nixon years, the government was worried long haired hippies would contaminate the Washington D.C. drinking water with LSD (opportunity lost). I’m thinking somebody recently slipped some drugs in our water, which explains why the world is burning and we are fiddling. Especially me, violin lessons and all. I’ll get to that later. We can’t even agree on eliminating plastic grocery bags or straws. How hard can that be? Little things can add up in the total picture. For the future of our children and our children’s children we better do something and do something quick. Jump on the bandwagon people, time is running out. Maybe as an individual we are unable to do anything earth shattering, but like ex-president Carter does, fix a problem one house at a time. On a smaller scale possibilities are abundant. Take bags with you when shopping, drink out of a cup like a big person and eliminate using a straw, or use paper instead of plastic.

I think letters gives us time to think. On social media when posting it is similar to biff, bam, thank you mam. Type, post, and then see-ya. A letter gives time to think, rethink, and redo if you want. You’re exposed as yourself. No spell check or anticipating likes and all the other cute emojis. A well thought out letter is an extension of yourself. What ideas do you have? Looking forward to seeing your ideas in a letter. My address:

5172 S. Via Loma Verde

Green Valley, Az. 85622

P.S. I’m not reimbursing 55 cents for the stamp. You never know, I may put some of your letters into the new book.

Mahalo
